Early Childhood

Our Early Childhood Department seeks to provide a safe and loving environment for the youngest of our children, infants through two years, as they take their first steps at church, hearing of Jesus and His love. Basic care, simple Bible stories and songs, nurturing play and lots of loving attention from caring attendants are the order of the day each Sunday morning.

Pre-School

Evergreen's ministry to pre-schoolers, ages 3-5, continues where Early Childhood leaves off, with its mission of communicating God's love for the purpose of leading children to Jesus. Our Pre-School Age ministry seeks to equip teachers and helpers to teach of Christ's love for His children and to provide a caring, safe and fun classroom environment each Sunday morning where pre-schoolers can learn Bible truths through stories, songs and activities.

Elementary

Our ministry to elementary age students at Evergreen exists to teach children at a progressively higher developmental level about the love of Jesus so as to bring them to a saving knowledge of Him. Our vision is to provide children with a place to experience His love and truth through teachers and helpers who are equipped to teach and guide kids effectively. Our Sunday morning grade level programs offer a welcoming and positive environment in which children can learn about God from His Word, utilizing worship, teaching, crafts, games and activities that all focus on the Scripture lesson for the day.

All three of our children's department programs are in full operation during both 8:45 and 10:30 service hours. In addition, a special Double-Time program is available during the 10:30 hour to serve children of pre-school and elementary age who participate during both service hours

Special Events

Occasional special events are also featured by our Children's Ministries, including a Pre-School Open House, a Parent Training Seminar, Vacation Bible School and Summer Camp for juniors, grades 4-5. As seasonal events and activities approach, specific information is made available on our Calendar page and through our weekly bulletin, as well as other Children's Ministries communications.

Our Vacation Bible School this summer will be a great time of fun, games, crafts, snacks and, of course, excellent Bible lessons. We will be serving kids 4 years old through 3rd grade. It all takes place the week of July 7 - 11, 2008 from 9:30 until 12:15 P.M. at Pine Lake Convenant Church. Registration begins April 23, 2008 and you may register on Sunday mornings or at our church offices.

If your child will be a 4th or 5th grader in the fall, then he or she is eligible to go to Junior Camp. Junior Camp is held at Camp Berachah the week of July 7-12, 2008. This is an excellent camp experience that you do not want your child to miss. Many kids come to know Christ in a personal way at camp, and this age group is ripe for beginning to understand what a relationship with Jesus is all about.
