About Evergreen

History

Evergreen Christian Fellowship was established in 1989 as a daughter church of Overlake Christian Church now of Redmond. On a snowy January day, Evergreen's first public worship service was held in the building of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in downtown Issaquah. Early and rapid growth prompted multiple services and a relocation to Meadow Creek Professional Office Park at the foot of the Sammamish Plateau that same year. On the occasion of Evergreen's first anniversary, Overlake Christian released this new ministry to fly on its own financially and under the leadership of its own board of elders. The young church continued to experience growth while adding to its programs and staff, establishing itself as a dynamic and flourishing congregation of believers in the Issaquah area. In 1996 Evergreen moved its Sunday services onto the Plateau, where we continue today in ministry at Beaver Lake Middle School, while maintaining office and mid-week meeting space at Cascade Business Park in Issaquah.

Demographics

Evergreen Christian Fellowship is an unaffiliated, non-denominational church. Average Sunday morning attendance is 650, including children and youth. We are a family-oriented church, with approximately 85% of our adult congregation within the 30-50 age range. While the people of Evergreen come from all corners of the greater Issaquah area, the major portion are residents of the Sammamish Plateau.

Our Mission

Evergreen Christian Fellowship exists to eternally impact our world by helping people become dynamic disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our Vision

To reach non-believing people with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ, to connect believers to God and others, to mature them in godly character and to equip them to live a lifestyle of ministry.

Our Core Values

  • We are motivated by love for God and others
  • We are founded upon the teaching of God's Word
  • We are consumed by a lifestyle of worship
  • We are devoted to fervent prayer
  • We are characterized by real relationships
  • We are prepared to engage our community in meaningful ways
  • We are dedicated to sharing our faith with others
  • We are surrendered to ministry as a way of life
  • We are called to build God-honoring families
  • We are compelled to ethical, moral and financial integrity
  • We are committed to excellence

What We Believe

We believe that there is one true and holy God, who is eternally existent and manifests Himself in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit.

We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that He came to earth in the form of man, that He died on the cross to save man from the just penalty of his sin and that He rose from the grave to confirm the gift of eternal life to all who accept His sacrifice.

We believe that man is sinful and, therefore, separated from God, but that his sin is forgiven and a personal relationship with God established through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Savior.

We believe that upon acceptance of Christ as Savior and surrender to Him as Lord, the Holy Spirit dwells within the believer to grant assurance of eternal life, to serve as Counselor and Guide and to provide the gifts with which to serve, as well as the power by which to live a transformed life.

We believe that the Church is the body of people who love and follow Jesus Christ, that every believer is called to active membership in a local church and that the mission of the Church is to glorify God, to proclaim the good news of Christ and to equip believers to live and serve as His disciples.

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, and that it is our absolute authority in all matters of doctrine and Christian living.

We believe that Jesus Christ is coming again to reign as King of Kings and to gather His people, the Church, to be with Him for eternity.
